Positivity

I'm not used to feeling this good, especially during the working week. I'm not used to singing along with the radio in the car on the way to work. I'm not used to voluntarily going in early and staying late.

I guess I'm not used to being happy.

So what's changed?

Basically, three things, in this order :
  1. I stopped drinking
  2. I started to pray each evening
  3. I got a new job

Seems to me that if I carry on doing the first two, and enjoying the third, I can relax and get used to being happy.

That sounds like a good and simple plan for 2007: don't drink: pray, work hard and be happy. Let's see how that works or if I manage to sabotage it somehow. I'm usually so good at sabotage but this time I think I can make it.

I am soo glad the new job is going well..
just remember nothing is perfect... I too am enjoying everything at my new job.. and I know it will change.. and when it does, I have choices.. working the program, like, going to meetings, talking to my sponsor, praying, daily inventory. I know for me when I do these things, I can get through the rough spots.
I dont drink no matter what, job or no job, husband or no husband, home or no home... no matter what, and what helps me if I loose those things, if the program of alcoholics anonymous. I am so grateful.
have a super good day

One day at a time.
I'm with you.

2007 looks the same for me, on all three counts, you're just a few steps ahead of me.

God bless you

If you read a few posts back on Mary Christine's blog you will see a reference to "old crusty men"

She can be an "old crusty woman", a sweet, loving, caring, sober, godly old crusty woman, but she is right. If you want to experience the love and fellowship of people in the same boat as you, people with a solution, get to an AA meeting.

I stumbled on your blog from Shadow's, and can identify with the rum and diet coke. My drink of choice, heavy on the rum, light on the coke, perhaps with a squeeze of lime... hmmmm mmmm.

It has been just over 21 months since my last drink, but I cannot imagine going back there, because to me, to drink is to drink a lot. A helluva lot.

Anyway, I am going off on tangents.

Thank you very much for sharing your sobriety and gratitude with us.

Good for you, I am dying here at my job today. My boss just asked me to do some work, which is a total waist of our time. Oh well. Maybe I will get that elusive job offer which may open the ways to happier days 8-5...

Great post! Thanks for sharing!
